Our book "Old Age with Current Discussions", edited by our EYGEV Advisory Board Member Semih Sütçü and financed and supported by EYGEV, has been published. Our Chairman Mr. We hope that the valuable work for which Serkan Ülkü wrote the foreword will have many readers.
The subject of aging and old age has become the focus of attention in many scientific fields in recent years. In many societies, old age and the problems associated with old age and the search for solutions to these problems are among the most important focal points in keeping the subject up to date. Population projections, which claim that the world population has entered a rapid aging process and that the aging of societies will be discussed as this rate increases further in the future, predict that the population in Turkey will also age rapidly in the next 50 years. It is important to develop policies for the aging population, research service areas, and plan professional work with the elderly.
In this book, an introduction is made with basic topics, from the conceptual treatment of old age to its demographic transformation. Following general topics related to old age, current elderly services in areas such as welfare, counselling, health and social services related to old age are discussed.
